Playing recordings on other DVD players (fi-
nalising a disc)

Most DVD players can play finalised discs recorded in
video mode and finalised DVD+R or DVD+RW discs.
Some players can play finalised/unfinalised DVD-RW
discs recorded in VR mode. Refer to the manual ac-
companying the player to find out which discs are
supported. When the disc is finalised, the recordings
are "fixed" so that the disc can be played on normal
DVD players or computers with a DVD-ROM drive.
When a disc is finalised in video mode, a menu for us-
ing the disc is generated. Press MENU/PBC

or TITLE to access the menu.

Read the section "Finalising" on page 24 for informa-
tion on finalising discs.

Notes:

Most standard DVD players can play unfinal-
ised DVD+RW discs.

Edited contents on a DVD+RW disc can only
be played on normal DVD players after the
disc is finalised.

Edited contents on a DVD+R disc (hidden in-
formation, merged chapters, added chapter
markers, etc.) cannot be played on normal
DVD players.

The duration of the finalisation process de-
pends on the disc type, how much data was
recorded onto the disc and the number of ti-
tles.

Finalising a DVD+R DL disc may take up to
30 minutes.
