Routine Maintenance (Rear Access)
To gain access to the rear note path for maintenance, first turn the power to the
machine off, and then remove the rear cover.
Carefully press in both of the green Moveable Plate latches and slowly pull the
assembly back towards you (Fig 1 and Fig 2). Care point: You should always
support this assembly as you lower it due to its weight.
You now have access for cleaning the rollers, stripper pads, sensors, illumination/
receiver glass, fitness detector and belts (Fig 2 and Fig 3). To clean, remove all
excess dirt with a soft brush. Clean the rubber feed wheels, separator rollers,
belts and stripper pads with a slightly damp cloth. You may use a small amount of
liquid soap on the cloth. Ensure all soap residue is removed from the rollers. Allow
to dry thoroughly before connecting the machine to the mains electrical supply.
Clean the glass of the illumination and receiver detector with a damp cloth, then
use a dry cloth to finish.
If a magnetic detector is fitted carefully clean the detector head with a small soft
brush. Avoid applying pressure to the detector head, this may damage the head
resulting in loss of performance or an inability to function.
Contact your local Talaris distributor for further information on how to carry out
required operational cleaning.
