Possible cause
Solution
Syringe thumbscrew is
loose
Tighten the syringe thumbscrew until finger tight. The thumbscrew is located at
the bottom of the syringe in the Syringe Pump Unit.
Tip is plugged
See Table VI above.
Air bubble in the syringe
path
Prime the syringe path by performing the Daily Warmup.
Microsolenoid valve is
leaky
See “Leaking inlet valve” (Table VI) above.
Syringe valve is blocked
or leaky
See “Leaking inlet valve” (Table VI) above.
Low liquid level in the
Water Container
Check the level of the system liquid in the Water Container. Make sure that the
end of the tubing is submerged in the water. Add deionized, degassed water as
needed (See “Powering on the System” in Section VI.A).
Table X. Problem: System stalls because the syringe does not move.

Solution
No power
Inspect the power cables and connections.
Syringe is not initialized
Cycle the power on the Syringe Pump Unit and restart the computer.
Obstruction
Verify that the syringes are not obstructed.
