With the insertion handle
in place, take an AP image
intensification view of the
proximal femur. Note the
position of the proximal nail
end in relation to the tip of
the greater trochanter. The
nail end should be visible due
to the difference in nail and
insertion handle diameters.

Place the blue end cap (required)
The 15 mm collar of the blue end cap statically locks the blue sleeve
to the nail. Upon final seating of the end cap, the UHMWPE* tip
deforms around the blade edge, further securing the Spiral Blade
during the nonweightbearing period.
