Remove the insertion
instruments. Using the
hexagonal screwdriver or
ratchet wrench with socket
extension, align the end cap
with the nail axis to prevent
cross-threading. Thread the
green end cap into the nail
until it seats fully.
As the final threads of the
end cap turn into the nail,
the surgeon will feel increased
resistance. Continue turning
until the shoulder of the end
cap contacts the proximal
nail end. This will help
prevent backout.
