Alternate mounting configurations
In-line mounting
In-line mounting refers to an orientation where the beam exit of both the marking head and laser are
in the same plane but the head is offset some distance in front of the laser (see Figure C-2). This type of
mounting is common in a “space-saver” situation where the laser is mounted vertically.

Offset mounting
Offset mounting refers to an orientation where the beam exit of the marking head is offset some lateral
distance from the laser’s beam exit centerline (see Figure C-3). This type of mounting is useful in situations
where the laser must be offset from the marking head to prevent interference with the product flow or with
other components in the manufacturing system.
