Chapter 5
Parameter Menus
Introduction
This chapter has the optional parameter bar codes necessary to program the Phaser scanner.
Operational Parameters
The Phaser is shipped with the settings shown in
Table 5-1
. These default values are stored
in non-volatile memory and are preserved even when the scanner is powered down. You can
change these default values by scanning the appropriate bar codes included in this manual.
These new values replace the standard default values in memory. The default parameter
values can be recalled by scanning the bar code in the section
Set Default Parameter on page
5-7
.
The scanner automatically detects which cable it is attached to, either an RS-232 or a Synapse
cable. If it is attached to an RS-232 cable and has either an ICL, Nixdorf, or Fujitsu host
interface, then scan the appropriate bar code from page
5-10
after power up. Any other host
interface works with the default setting.
If it is attached to a Synapse cable, plug everything together as described on page
2-6
and then
follow the directions that come with the Synapse cable for setting up the host interface.
Note: Parameter bar codes can only be scanned when the scanner is in the
“system menu”. Refer to
System Menu
on page 3-4 for more
information.
