Replacing Optical Fibers
When you replace the optical fiber, you should cover the optical connector that is not in use with
dust-proof caps.
1.5 Short-Circuit Protection
When you install and maintain the device, use tools according to the regulations.
Do not put tools, such as the screwdriver on the air intake board of the enclosure; otherwise,
short circuit may occur.
CAUTION
Avoid dropping screws into the sub-rack or the device; otherwise, short circuit may occur.

When you install and maintain the equipment, follow the electrical safety precautions to avoid
device damage or bodily injury.
Power On and Power Off
DANGER
Before you check the installation and cable connection, ensure that the entire storage system is
powered off. Improper connections may cause bodily harm or the device might be damaged
during the check.
CAUTION
If you need to perform hot-line operations and the cables that you touch are power cables, you
must take off the ESD-preventive wrist strap.
