Setting up an Imaging Server
Connecting the Imaging Server to a 7120
Connect the 7120 to the Imaging Server using a crossover cable or a network
device such as a hub or switch.
To cable the Imaging Server directly to a 7120
1 Plug one end of the provided 10/100Base-T crossover cable into the RJ45
port on the Imaging Server.
2 Plug the other end of the cable into the left-most RJ45 port (port 0) on the
appliance, as viewed from the back.
3 Confirm that the link light is lit for port 0 on the 7120, and on the Imaging
Server NIC.
To connect the Imaging Server to a 7120 through a network device
1 Connect a regular Ethernet cable from the Imaging Server to the hub or
switch.
2 Connect a second regular Ethernet cable from the left-most RJ45 port (port
0) on the 7120 to the hub or switch.
Note: If you use a switch, configure it so that the two ports can pass network
traffic between them.
3 Confirm that the link light is lit for port 0 on the 7120, and on the Imaging
Server NIC.
Connecting the Imaging Server to a 7160
Connect the 7160 to the Imaging Server using any Ethernet cable or a network
device such as a hub or switch.
To cable the Imaging Server directly to a 7160
1 Plug one end of a 10/100Base-T regular or crossover cable into the RJ45 port
on the Imaging Server.
2 Plug the other end of the cable into the left-most, top, RJ45 port (port 0) on
the appliance, as viewed from the back.
3 Confirm that the link light is lit for port 0 on the 7160, and on the Imaging
Server NIC.
To connect the Imaging Server to a 7160 through a network device
1 Connect an Ethernet cable from the Imaging Server to the hub or switch.
