Delaying answering a call
Use the menu to define how often the telephone should ring before an outgoing message is played
to the caller. You can select between 2, 4, 6 or 8 ringing tones;
Menu Structure, Page 164

).
The answering machine is set to 4 rings by default.
In addition, the
Toll saver
setting is also available for pre−remote access free of charge. The toll−
saving pre−remote access feature can be used to check whether new messages have been re-
ceived on your answering machine from a distant telephone. If new messages have been recorded
on your answering machine, your call is taken after 2 rings at the latest. If no new messages have
been recorded on your answering machine, your call is taken after 6 rings. Place the receiver on−
hook before the 6th ring. This means that no charges ensue.

Recording a memo
A memo is a message which you leave on the answering machine for other users and is played
back in the same way as a message left by other callers. A memo may be maximally 3 minutes
long and recorded on the handset.
Memos can also be recorded when the answering machine is switched off.
