7 Answering Machine
The answering machine can store up to 57 messages (59 messages including the outgoing mess-
ages). The maximum recording time is 15 minutes (including the outgoing messages).
When the memory capacity for new messages is exhausted, no further messages are recorded.
The answering machine then automatically switches to Answer Only mode.
The answering machine can be operated from the base unit and the handset.
Switching the answering machine on/off
When the answering machine is switched on, the Play/Stop key on the base unit lights up red. In
addition, the

icon appears permanently in the displays of the base unit and registered
handsets.
The answering machine is switched on by default.

Answering modes
The answering machine provides two answering modes: Answer and Record mode (
Ans and
Rec
) and Answer Only mode (
Answer only
). When Answer and Record mode is active, a mess-
age can be left by the caller. If Answer Only mode is active, no message can be left.
Selecting the answering mode
Select the answering mode required;

The answering machine is set to Answer and Record mode by default.
