Brake Pedal
Check the brake pedal free travel. If the adjustment is
necessary, adjust the free travel to 20–30 mm (0.8–
1.2 in) by turning the adjuster

Brake Lever (Parking Brake)
The rear brake lever play as measured at the lever
holder should be 3–5 mm (0.1–0.2 in) when the lever
is lightly pulled in towards the grip.
1. Loosen the lock nut

and turn in the adjuster

as far as it will go.
2. Turn the adjuster

clockwise or counterclockwise
to obtain the specified play.
Rear brake (parking brake) lever play:
3–5 mm (0.1–0.2 in)
3. Minor adjustments can now be made with the
brake lever adjuster

the lever cover

4. After adjusting the play, check that the rear wheels
roll freely with the brake disengaged, the transmis-
sion in neutral, and the rear wheels off the ground.
5. Set the parking brake and check that the rear
wheels are locked by trying to move the vehicle
back and forth while it is in neutral.
6. Readjust the rear brake lever play if the rear
wheels could not roll freely or if the rear wheels
didn’t lock in step (2).
TIRE PRESSURE
Using an accurate air gauge, check the air pressure
of the front and rear tires. The pressure should be as
shown.
