2. CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE

Water can be automatically connected or drained into a sink, a larger container or through the wall

into an external duct by attaching a hose to the unit (10 mm internal diameter) (not included). Insert

the hose into the drain outlet at the back of the unit as shown here.

WATER DRAINAGE

1.USING THE TANK

Remove the tank slowly. Grasp the tank firmly by its handle and carefully remove it. Remove the cap from

the top of the tank and empty the water tank before reinserting it into the dehumidifier. The tank must be in

place and secure for the dehumidifier to work again. The dehumidifier will restart when the tank is returned to

its correct position.

-

- CARRYING HANDLE

-

- The handle of the appliance is designed to make it easier to move and should not be used to support the

entire weight of the dehumidifier. When transporting the appliance, it must be kept in an upright position and

sufficiently supported by the base.

-

- The handle should not be used if the fixings show signs of deterioration.

1. CLEANING THE GRILLE AND HOUSING

Use water and a mild detergent to clean the

washable mesh filters. Do not use bleach or abrasive

cleaners. Do not spray water directly onto the main

unit. Doing so may cause electric shock, damage the

insulation or cause the unit to rust. The air inlet and

outlet grilles get dirty easily, so use a hoover

attachment or a soft brush to clean them. Wipe the

body of the dehumidifier with a soft, damp cloth or

paper towel.

Remove the ABS filter frame. If the optional carbon filters are fitted, remove them

from the frame and vacuum gently every 2-3 weeks or so.

If the mesh filter is dirty, vacuum it, if it is very dirty, wash it with hot soapy water and dry it thoroughly before

putting it back in the appliance. When the filter cleaning is complete and the filters are dry, put them back into the

appliance. NOTE: The charcoal filter is optional, but never operate the appliance without the mesh filter frame

correctly inserted.

2.CLEANING THE WATER TANK

Every few weeks, clean the tank to prevent the growth of mould and bacteria. Partially fill the tank with clean water

and add a little mild detergent. Run the water, then empty the tank and rinse. NOTE: Do not use a dishwasher to

clean the tank. After cleaning and drying, the tank must be securely reinserted into the dehumidifier to resume

operation.

END OF SEASON MAINTENANCE

1.

Empty and clean the water tank.

2.

Clean the appliance and filters according to the cleaning procedure above.

3.

Coil the power cord onto the special cord storage bracket at the back of the

appliance.

4.

Cover the appliance and store it in a dry place.

Put  the  tank  back  in  place.  Make  sure  the  water  hose  is  routed  downwards  and  let  the  water  flow  out

slowly.

gently. Do not bend the hose.

The permanent drain can be used in conjunction with a water pump (e.g. when emptying a cellar) to raise

the water level.

The permanent drain can be used in conjunction with a water pump (e.g. when emptying a cellar) to bring

the water up.

MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning or servicing, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains. When the

appliance  is  not  used  for  long  periods,  it  is  advisable  to  remove  the  plug  from  the  socket.  Do  not  use

chemical  solvents  (such  as  benzene,  alcohol  or  petrol)  as  they  may  cause  irreversible  damage  to  the

appliance.

-

- All maintenance staff and others working in the local area shall be instructed on the nature of work being

carried out. Work in confined spaces shall be avoided. The area around the workspace shall be sectioned off.

Ensure that the conditions within the area have been made safe by control of flammable material.

-

CHECKING FOR PRESENCE OF REFRIGERANT

-

-The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during work, to ensure the

technician is aware of potentially flammable atmospheres. Ensure that the leak tection equipment being used

is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. nonsparking, adequately sealed or intrinsically safe.
