5-6 Installing Memory
Memory Support
Each X8DTT-F/X8DTT-IBXF/X8DTT-IBQF has twelve 240-pin DIMM slots that
can support up to 192 GB of ECC registered (or 48 GB of unbuffered) DDR3-
1333/1066/800 SDRAM.
Note : Check the Supermicro web site for recommended DIMMs and memory
updates.
Installing Memory Modules
Insert each memory module vertically into a slot following the charts below. 1.
Pay attention to the notch along the bottom of the module to prevent inserting
it incorrectly.
Gently 2. press down on the DIMM module until it snaps into place in the slot
(see Figure 5-3).
Repeat for all DIMMs. See tables below and on following pages. 3.

CAUTION! Exercise extreme care when installing or removing
DIMM modules to prevent any possible damage.
