Running Setup*

The WinBIOS Setup options described in this section are selected by choos-
ing the appropriate high-level icon from the Standard Setup screen. All dis-
played icons are described in this section, although the screen display is often
all you need to understand how to set the options.

Select these options to configure the drive named in the option. Select
Auto Detect IDE
to let AMIBIOS automatically configure the drive. A
screen with a list of drive parameters appears. Click on
OK
to configure
the drive.

the PIO mode. If you select a PIO mode that is not
supported by the IDE drive, the drive will not work
properly. If you are absolutely certain that you know
the drive’s PIO mode, select PIO mode 0-4, as appropriate.
