Installing an Expansion Card on the Right Side
On the right side (looking from the front) of the chassis, you can install a full-
height, full-width expansion card, or a double width high-end graphics processing
unit (GPU).
Installing a Full Height Expansion Card on the Right Side
1. Power down the system and remove the chassis cover.
2. If you have a right-side riser card bracket along the right edge of the
serverboard, remove the bracket from the chassis by unscrewing only those
screws indicated by the screwdriver icon. Lift the bracket from the chassis.
3. Remove the PCI slot shield in the rear of the chassis. Remove the small plas-
tic bracket from the right, rear corner of the chassis (Figure 6-10).

Slide the expansion card into the slot on the motherboard and fit the expan
-
sion card shield in the PCI opening in the rear of the rear of the chassis.
5. Secure the expansion card shield. Replace the small plastic bracket in the
right, rear corner of the chassis.
6. Replace the chassis cover and power up.
