Installing an Expansion Card on the Left Side
On the left side (looking from the front) of the chassis, you can install a full-height,
full-width expansion card, or a double width high-end graphics processing unit
(GPU).
Installing a Full Height Expansion Card on the Left Side
1. Power down the system and remove the chassis cover.
2. Remove the riser card bracket from the chassis by unscrewing only those
screws indicated by the screwdriver icon as illustrated in Figure 6-9. Lift the
bracket with the riser card from the chassis.
3. Remove the PCI slot shield in the rear of the chassis.
4.
Slide the expansion card into the slot on the riser card and fit the expansion
card shield in the PCI opening in the rear of the rear of the chassis.
5. Secure the expansion card shield.
Note
: If you are also installing a low profile expansion card, do it at this point.
6. Replace the riser card bracket, the chassis cover and power up.
