CHAPTER NINE
FRONT FRAME
Front Frame
Steering Stem
On refitting, check that the steering is fully free to move from left hand lock to right hand lock without
stiffness & that there is no up & down play in the steering head.
Remove the top nut by hand.
Remove the locking ring by hand.
Remove the knurled ring by hand.
Slide the steering stem out of the head. The lower
bearing should come with it, if not use thin nosed
pliers to extract it from the head.
Use thin nosed pliers to extract the top bearing.
