1.10 Remove the (3) socket cap screws
holding the diffuser cover to the seal
housing and lift the top assembly off the
cover. Place the top assembly back on
top of the crates from STEP 8.
Note: If the diffuser cover will not
separate from the seal housing
after removing the screws then
the (3) jacking holes located
next to each of the cap screw
holes can be used.
Note: The socket head screws are the
same size/thread pitch as the
jacking screw holes. However,
it is not recommended to use
the diffuser cover screws as
jacking screws due to the
possibility of damage to the
screw ends.
1.11 With the top assembly resting securely
back on the crates from STEP 8, install
Seal Spacers between the rotating
collar and the seal gland before
loosening the collar lock screws. The
spacers may be provided with ship
loose components or attached to the
seal gland and number in quantity of
two to four depending on the seal
manufacture.
Note: Failure to install seal spacers
prior to removal can cause
damage to the seal
Note: Various seal manufacturers
and configurations are used in
this product. Although the parts
may be different, the overall
process is the same.
