6.6 OpenBoot Commands
OpenBoot commands are commands you type from the
ok
prompt. OpenBoot
commands which can provide useful diagnostic information are:

probe-scsi
■ probe-ide
■
show-devs
6.6.1
probe-scsi
Command
The
probe-scsi
command is used to diagnose problems with SCSI devices.
Caution – If you used the
halt
command or the Stop-A key sequence to reach the
ok
prompt, then issuing the
probe-scsi
command can hang the system.
The
probe-scsi
command communicates with all SCSI devices connected to on-
board SCSI controllers.
For any SCSI device that is connected and active, the
probe-scsi
command
displays its loop ID, host adapter, logical unit number, unique World Wide Name
(WWN), and a device description that includes type and manufacturer.
The following is sample output from the
probe-scsi
command.
