4.2.1
In compressor aftercoolers / refrigerant dryers, Sullair recommend the drain is
installed directly below the separator or vessel being drained, using pipework
/ fittings with an internal diameter of no less than 19mm (3/4”) to prevent
airlocking.
If it is not possible to install directly below the separator or vessel being
drained, the lower inlet connection can be used. The upper inlet must be
connected, to a point of equal pressure above the condensate level. This will
act as a balance line and prevent the unit from airlocking.
FAILURE TO INSTALL A BALANCE LINE WILL CAUSE AN AIRLOCK AND DRAIN
WILL NOT OPERATE.
