The proper operation and maintenance have significant implications to the optimal
service life and performance of a device. The starting up and maintenance of oil
hydraulic devices are described in the directives ISO 6743 / 4 and DIN 51524.
The service life of valves depends on frequency of their switching on. The most
important factor regarding pressure valves is the duration of oil flowing through the
valve. This is very difficult to determine, therefore operating time of the device is taken
as the basis. The pressure valves should be inspected after 2000 to 3000 hours of
operation. The valves seats should be checked for wear.
The following inspections must be carried out weekly:
The inspection of the device cleanliness.
The inspection of the hoses regarding their damages, stiffness and tightness.
The inspection of tightness of connections and hydraulic components.
5.7. Maintenance of pneumatic system
Air brake maintenance should be carried out at appropriate interval according to the conditions.
In wet/muddy conditions checks/ maintenance should be more frequent. Trailers fitted with air
brakes should be inspected regularly for air leaks and the air reservoir drain and its condition
inspected. Load sensing valves and air system should be serviced at least annually by an
approved
STRONGA
service agent.
5.8. Lubrication
In order to ensure safe and reliable exploitation the trailer must be periodically
lubricated. Lubrication of the trailer must be conducted in places presented in the
Figure 19
&
Figure 20
. All greasing points of the trailer are pointed by decal “GREASE”
(see
Table 4
DI 007). The periodic lubrication is specified in
Table 8
.
The recommended grease type is EP-2.
WARNING!
Use of molybdenum based grease is not permitted.
