Design, task and function of the assembly groups
The GCLS consists of a gear component (1) and a switch component (2), which are accommodated in a housing
(3). The torque is transmitted in a positive locking way to the cam disc (7) by the continuous drive shaft (6). The
gear parts are made of high quality plastic and are maintenance-free.
GCLSs are manufactured as standard in protection class IP00 as built-in switches. The GCLS can be mounted in
an aluminium housing of protection class IP65 or in a glass fibre reinforced polycarbonate housing in protection
class IP66 and IP65. For the protection class of the available designs, see the type code section 4.1.8.
The planetary gears are made of thermoplastic material. The switching stages are constructed with the same
parts as the gear stages, through the applied modular technique. In addition, there is a cam disc (7) and an
adjustment worm (4).
The gear and switching stages are mounted in a glass fibre reinforced plastic housing, see section 4.1.2 and
section 4.1.3. The contacts are actuated by the switching stage cam discs.
