6.4.1
Insert the connection cable into the GCLS
Insertion of the connection cable
1. Insert the machine-side connection cable via the cable entry
point (1) in the switch housing.
NOTE
The cable screw connections used correspond to
protection class >IP66. When mounting the cable, it is
especially important to ensure that the union nut (2) is
carefully tightened (2 - 3 Nm) after the cable is
inserted.
As necking can cause the plastic sheath to remain
deformed at the clamping point in the cable gland
with some cables, retighten the union nut (2) as
necessary after 2 weeks. The cable entry point for the
GCLS should be carried out in such a way that no
water can be conducted by the cable to the cable
gland.
6.4.2
Connect the screw connections
NOTE
For screw connections, only copper conductors may be used for the wiring.
Connection to the screw connections
The screw connections are designed for cross sectional areas of 0.5
to 1.5 mm² / AWG 22 to 16.
Contacts with screw connections are generally supplied with
protection against accidental contact. For these contacts, it must be
ensured that before commissioning, all screw connection screws are
firmly tightened, whether or not they are used with a cable.
1. Strip the ends (1) of the connecting cables by 6 mm.
2. Insert cable underneath the clamp bolt and tighten screw
connection (2) with screw driver [1Nm].
