5.3.2
The setting angle of the curved knife to the knife can be set at the right
threaded pin (2) / nut (2). (
Setting the setting angle
Screw in
= wider angle
= more wear
Screw out
= narrower angle
= less wear
The curved knife needs to be removed for this setting.
Screw out screw (1) and remove contact plate (2), spring (3) and curved knife
(4). (Fig. 25)
Screw in the threaded pin until it protrudes by 0.3 mm on the side where the
curved knife contacts. (Fig. 26)
The 0.3 mm serve as a guideline.
The guidelines can deviate by the tolerances in the knife block just as the
guidelines may deviate when the knifes have been reground.

5.3.3
The contact pressure of the curved knife to the knife can be set at the bottom
threaded pin (3) / nut (3). (
Setting the contact pressures
Screw in
= less contact pressure
= less wear
Screw out
= more contact pressure
= more wear
Position 1 always has to be set first (Fig. 27), then check position 2 (Fig. 28)
and readjust position 1 if necessary.
The curved knife needs to be in position 1 for this setting.
Position 1 (Fig. 27)
Screw in the threaded pin far enough until the contact plate has no more
contact with the curved knife, then screw it back out again until the contact plate
has contact again and screw it out about 1/8 of a rotation more so that there is
a slight pressure on the curved knife.
Use a 0.1 mm feeler gauge (Fig. 25) (a sheet of paper may be used as an
alternative) to check if the correct contact pressure has been set by pulling the
feeler gauge between the contact plate and curved knife and feeling a slight
resistance.
