Please note the following:
Read the Operating Instructions through thoroughly. Persons who are
not familiar with the Operating Instructions and also children, should not
be permitted to use the appliance. It should be used only for the purpose
for which it is intended and any use for another purpose could prove
dangerous and must be strictly forbidden.
Before Putting into Use
Before the first use, the 4 pans (CHEESE max4) or the 2 pans (CHEESE-
max2) and the grill-plate should be washed in hot water. Place the
appliance in the position where it will eventually be used. It should be
placed on a surface that is stable, level, dry and away from walls. When
first switched on, the appliance may produce an odour due to the new
parts being heated. This is typical of electrically heated equipment and
will disappear after a few minutes. It is an absolutely normal effect and
does not detract at all from the quality of the product.
Putting into Use
Plug in the mains plug. Move the On/Off Switch to the ON position and
the indicator lamp should light. We recommend that you allow about
15 mi nutes for the appliance to warm up. After this time the CHEESE-
max6, CHEESE max4 or CHEESE max2 will have reached the ideal ope-
rating temperature.
1) Raclette Preparation
Lay the Raclette cheese with the side ingredients such as onion-rings,
garlic cloves, diced peppers or tomatoes, etc. in the pan. Spices should
be added only after cooking is complete as many spices can react under
the heat to produce a bitter taste.
2) Grilling
So that the meat does not stick to the Grill-plate, it is recommended that
you first grill a rasher of bacon or add a very small quantity of oil. If too
much fat or oil is on the grill-plate, there could be a danger of fat ‘spitting’.
Grilling fruit is not recommended, because the fruit acid may
cause the fruit to stick to the plate and may damage the coating.
