20.1 Troubleshooting Pruning Shears and Battery
20 Troubleshooting
Condition LEDs on battery or
message on
display
Cause Remedy
Pruning shears do
not operate after
switch-on or
suddenly stop
working.
1 LED flashes
green.
Battery has low charge. ► Recharge the battery fully as described in the
instruction manual for the STIHL AL 101, 300, 500
chargers.
1 LED glows red. Battery too hot or too cold. ► Remove the battery.
► Allow battery to cool down / warm up.
4 LEDs flash red There is a malfunction in
the battery.
► Remove battery and insert it again.
► Switch on the pruning shears.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
battery and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
BATT KO No electrical contact
between battery and
control unit.
► Pull plug out of control unit and insert it again.
► If the display still indicates ‘BATT KO’: Do not use
the pruning shears and contact your STIHL dealer
for assistance.
POWERLINE KO No electrical contact
between the control unit
and motor.
► Fit the union nut of connecting cable plug on the
socket’s thread and tighten it down firmly by hand.
► If the display still indicates ‘POWERLINE KO’: Do
not use the pruning shears and contact your
STIHL dealer for assistance.
TRIGGER LINE KO No electrical contact
between the control unit
and trigger.
► Fit the union nut of connecting cable plug on the
socket’s thread and tighten it down firmly by hand.
► If the display still indicates ‘TRIGGER LINE KO’:
Do not use the pruning shears and contact your
STIHL dealer for assistance.
No electrical contact
between the pruning
shears and battery.
► Remove battery and insert it again.
► Pull plug out of control unit and insert it again.
Pruning shears or battery
damp.
► Allow the pruning shears or battery to dry.
