The bearings have a slot (a) and
two flutes (b and c) in their
housings. It is important that the
slot (a) does not face the rivet in the
drive tube.
The bearing
must butt against the
slot and must not slip through.

Fit the clamp (1) on the short
drive tube (2) from the engine
end.

Push the clamp (2) with drive
tube into the engine end.

Tighten down the screws (1) on
the clamp (2) firmly.

Pull out the short drive tube (2) as
far as stop.

Tighten down the screw (1) firmly.
The complete assembly must be
married up with the powerhead so
that all screws face downwards.

When pushing home, make sure the
fixing hole for the AV sleeve is
correctly positioned.

Coat outside of drive shaft (1)
with STIHL shaft grease,

before pushing it into the flexible
liner.
– If the drive shafts have to be
cleaned before assembly, pull
them completely apart.
