SERVICE
8.1
GENERAL
Attention: All repairs carried out on the lifting system by non-service department personnel, the consequences of
such repairs are entirely at the user's risk.
The term 'service department' is the Stertil service department or a service department recognized by Stertil.
Two tables are provided to assist the service technician in locating faults in the lifting system .
The first table shows the faults indicated by the LED’s on the microprocessor board (see fig. 8.1) and the second
table
shows possible mechanical faults.
When a fault occurs, the "SET REF" light on the control panel will go out. On the box where the fault has
occurred the "SET REF" light will start flashing. When serious failures occur, e.g. height differences of over
2 1/2” between columns will create an emergency stop, both the "SET REF" light and the mains power light
will go out. In the box subject to failure faults are indicated by means of 4 LED’s (see sticker (fig. 8.1) in the
control box and table on page 31).
Remove the two bolts on the left side to open the hinged cover.
To open the control box , remove the four bolts inside the cover, so that the inside of the box can be reached from
the opening in the back.
Remarks:
- Danger of getting injured by high amperage and when used inexpertly .
- Only open the covers to carry out maintenance. In this case make sure that the lifting system is
disconnected from the electrical power supply.
- Faults can be released by holding the “SET REF” button pressed for 2 seconds until control light is on.
If the fault cannot be released, check the trouble shooting list in 8.2.
Turn ALL main switches OFF(0) before turning them ON (1) again. Press “SET REF” two times to start
the system again.
The microprocessor board is equipped with 4 LED’s for indicating failures; the order in which they are
lit indicates the type of defect as described in 8.2.
To see the LED’s open the control box cover.
Refer to fig. E and H for identification of components.
