forwarding
Disable or enable the IP routing functionality.
The default is
enabled
.
OPTIONAL
redirects
Disable or enable the sending of ICMP redirect messages.
A router can send a redirect message in case a shorter path than the path
followed is discovered.
The default is
enabled
(for security reasons).
OPTIONAL
sourcerouting
Disable or enable IP source routed packets.
IP source routed packets are packets with the route to follow specified in the
header.
The default is
disabled
(for security reasons).
OPTIONAL
netbroadcasts
Disable or enable net directed broadcasts.
The default is
disabled
.
In case netbroadcasts are allowed, no traces of netbroadcasts are generated.
OPTIONAL
ttl
A number between 0 and 255.
Represents the default Time To Live (TTL) for locally generated IP packets. This
parameter determines the number of hop counts the IP packet may pass before
it is dropped.
By limiting the TTL, continuous circulation of IP packets on the network without
ever reaching a destination is avoided.
The default is
64
.
OPTIONAL
fraglimit
A number between 1 and 1024.
Represents the maximum number of IP packet fragments waiting for
completion.
By limiting the fragmentation limit, the depletion of the buffer is avoided.
The default is
64
.
OPTIONAL
defragmode
Disallow (disabled) or allow (enabled) defragmenting IP fragments.
The default is
enabled
.
