D. Comdial
DXP/DTS System
This appendix describes the recommended programming to use the Link 150 Model MCC-
452 or MCC-454 with a Comdial Digital Telephone System. The procedures assume:
•
The Comdial system has software version 12B or later.
•
The Comdial system is installed and operational.
•
A trained Comdial technician will be on site with the Installer to program the system.
1. Comdial Wiring
The Comdial digital station port is a two-wire digital circuit. When wiring to modular
jacks, use straight-through phone cords with RJ11 plugs to connect the MCC45x MCU
phone lines to the jacks.
The digital pair is polarity insensitive. If you reverse polarity the system will
still work.
2. Programming Considerations
Before installation, review the requirements and parameters of the wired telephones to
plan the settings required for the SpectraLink Link Wireless Telephones.
•
Toll Restrictions – these determine which sets are allowed to make outside calls, and
which should be restricted.
•
Line/Intercom Features – these determine how lines are accessed by users. Note the
settings of Idle Line Preference and Ringing Line Preference.
•
Button Mapping – the Link Wireless Telephone supports programmable buttons for
telephone system features. Determine which button features, if any, should be
programmed on the wireless telephones.
•
Miscellaneous Features – note the settings for these station features so the wireless
telephones can be programmed the same way. Check whether All-Call and Zone
Paging and SOHVA are used, since these features will need to be disabled on
individual wireless telephones.
If possible, identify a wired set that is programmed exactly or close to the way the wireless
telephones should be programmed. This set can be used to copy the programming to the
new wireless telephones.
