Video Files
Video Sharing & Utilities
- CD-ROM Recording - Video files less then 700 MB in size can be burned to a CD format disk.
Note: A CD-ROM with movie files will only be viewable on a computer. CD-ROM’s can not be
played using a home DVD player.
- DVD-ROM Recording - Video files over 700 MB in size can be burned to a DVD format disk.
Note: A DVD-ROM with movie files will only be viewable on a computer. DVD-ROM’s can not
be played using a home DVD player.
- DVD Movie Recording - Using computer software, DVD Movie recordings can be made for use
on a home DVD player (in addition to a computer). There are a variety of movie making software
packages available (Nero, Movie Studio, Roxio). NOTE: Movie making software not supplied with
PROvision
Touch
.
- Video Editing for Email - In addition to the previously discussed email methods, a video file can
be edited for email purposes. Using DVD movie software (Nero), files can be imported and edited.
The software can downsize the file type, or be used to trim away unnecessary parts.
After transferring the video files to a computer, the user has a variety of ways to transmit the video to
a customer.
- Email Video - The video file can be attached to an email and sent to a customer. This method is
only possible if the video file is very small, since most email programs restrict email attachment file
sizes to 8 MB. Use this method if the video file is less than 30 seconds long.
- Email Snapshot - If the video file is too big for emailing, but a specific image from the movie
would be appropriate for emailing, use the PROvision
Touch
Playback. Watch the movie in
playback mode and then pause the screen when you reach the desired video image. Press the
“Snapshot” button to create an image file. Image files are very small compared to video and can
easily be emailed.
- Large File Sending
- For larger video files (over 30 seconds long), email can still be used but it should be sent
through a File Sharing Website. Examples of these websites are SendYourFiles.com and
YouSendIt.com, in which your video file is uploaded to their website. Next, the recipient is sent an
email including a link provided by the File Transfer Website. After opening the file, the link will send
the customer directly to the video location for download.
- Alternatively, video websites such as YouTube can be used for video distribution.
