1-9. Cleaning
The dust and dirt entered inside of this unit and adhered to the surface of the optical parts may cause the
degradation of luminance, screen discoloration, etc. In such a case, perform the cleaning as required.
1-9-1. Optical Block Assembly
Require items
Air blower, brush
Preparation
Remove the optical block assembly. (Refer to Section 1-6-11.)
Procedure
1. Blow off the dust and dirt adhered to the DC fans, boards and the surface of the optical block assem-
bly.
1-9-2. In-polarizer (R)/(G)/(B) Assembly

Never touch the glass portion of the in-polarizer (G) assembly and in-polarizer (B) assembly because they
are inorganic polarizing plates. If you touch the glass portion, the polarized layer may be peeled off,
causing an optical failure.
Required items
Air dust spray, blower, drinking water, tissue paper
Preparation
Remove the in-polarizer (R)/(G)/(B) assembly. (Refer to Section 1-6-17.)
