Setting partitions for the HDD 
cartridge

You can select whether to separate the 
HDD cartridge into three partitions or use it 
as a single partition.
The cartridge is separated into three 
partitions under factory default settings.

Note

When the HDD cartridge is used as a single 
partition, you cannot play back clips while 
connected to a PMW-EX1, PMW-EX3, or 
PMW-EX30.

Select SETUP in the main menu, and 
press the SET button.

Select HDD SET, and press the SET 
button.

Select FORMAT HDD, and press the 
SET button.

Check the current number of 
partitions.

The number next to “PARTITION” 
indicates the current number of 
partitions.

Select PARTITION, and press the SET 
button if you want to change the 
partition setting.

Select the number of partitions (1 or 3), 
and press the SET button.

The screen from step

Select FORMAT HDD, and press the 
SET button to format the HDD.
