Step 8: Checking System Settings and Device Connections (Checklist)
Checklist Details
Follow the procedure in
“Starting Each Device” (page 59)
to restart each device within the system. Next, check items 1
to 8 in the checklist.
•
Restarting the system takes approximately five minutes.
•
Check the system with all IP converters connected, including the IP converters mounted on trolleys.
•
Check the following items when logged in to Network System Manager with Administrator role.

Check the network
switch LEDs.
Check the status LEDs of the network switch to make sure an error has not been generated.
• Check that [MST] is lit green.
The network switch is booting if the LED is flashing green.
• Check that [ALM] is not lit.
An error has occurred if the LED is lit red or yellow. Refer to the following sections to perform
configuration again.

The description in this document is based on the Juniper Networks/EX4550 32F network switch.

Check the IP
converter LEDs.
Check the SYSTEM indicator of the IP converter to make sure an error has not been generated.
• Check that the SYSTEM indicator is lit green.
The IP converter is booting if the LED is flashing green (once per second).
The IP converter has generated an error if the LED is flashing orange. Refer to
to perform configuration again.
Note
If operating the system using an IP converter as a dedicated sync leader in Network GenLock
mode, the dedicated leader IP converter flashes green (twice per second) during normal operation.
