5-3. Periodic Check
To keep the unit functioning optimally and to prolong the life of the unit and tape, perform periodic
checks regularly.
5-3-1. Hours Meter
In the HDW-250, an hours meter can be displayed on the LCD of the front panel.
Use this as a reference to perform the periodic check regularly.
1. Display procedure
(1) Press the DIAG button of the front panel using the tip of a clip, etc. to enter the DIAG menu.
(2) Press the UP or DOWN button to move the

(asterisk cursor) to “HOURS METER” of the DIAG
menu.
(3) Press the SET button. The “HOURS METER 1” menu is displayed.
(4) Press the SET button again to display the “HOURS METER 1” menu.
(5) To exit the DIAG menu, press the DIAG button again in the same way as step 1.
2. Contents of display
POWER ON :
Accumulated time of power-on
DRUM ROTATE : Accumulated time of drum rotation
The time in brackets [ ] indicates the accumulated
time since resetting.
TAPE TRAVEL : Indicates accumulated distance of tape running,
calculated from the running time.
The time in brackets [ ] indicates the accumulated
time since resetting.
(e.g.: The tape travel counts 248 minutes for fast
forwarding or rewinding a 124-minute tape.)
TAPE THREAD : Accumulation of threading rotation (T: TIMES)
The time in brackets [ ] indicates the accumulated
time since resetting.
<RESET> :
Resets the resettable hours meters.

The replacement time shown in the following list are not guaranteed period of the parts. Use this list as
guidelines form maintenance and inspection. The replacement period varies depending on the operation
environment and the conditions of the unit.
