To return to the previous screen using the side sensor

Slide your finger up or down along the side of the device to return to the previous
screen.
To turn Side sense on or off

Find and tap Settings > Display > Advanced.

Tap Side sense.

Tap the switch to enable or disable the function.

the menu on the lock screen.

Select whether to use Side sense on one or both sides of
your device.

Select if you want to use the side sensor to return to the

Turning the screen on or off
When your device is on and left idle for a set period of time, the screen dims and
turns off to save battery power. You can change how long your screen stays active
before it turns off.
When your screen is turned off, your device can be locked or unlocked, depending
on your screen lock setting. See
