Speakers
Sound comes from one channel, or
unbalanced left and right volume.
Place the speakers as symmetrically as
possible.
Connect only the supplied speakers.
Turn off the X-ROUND mode (page
47).
The sound from the audio source has
echo effects.
Press FLANGER or DELAY repeatedly
to turn off the effecter mode.
The sound from the audio source is
isolated in specific frequency band.
Press ISOLATOR repeatedly to turn off
the sound isolation mode.
There is beat sound even though you
have not played back any source.
Press BEAT ON/OFF to turn off the
beat pattern.
CD/MP3 player
The sound skips, or the disc will not
play.
Wipe the disc clean.
Move the system to a location away
from vibration (for example, on top of
a stable stand).
Move the speakers away from the
system, or place them on separate
stands. At high volume, speaker
vibration may cause the sound to skip.
Playback does not start from the first
track.
The system is in program play or
shuffle play mode. Set the play mode to
normal play mode (page 25).
Starting playback takes more time
than usual.
The following discs can increase the
time it takes to start playback.
A disc recorded with a complicated
tree structure
A disc recorded in multisession
mode
A disc that has not been finalized (a
disc to which data can be added)
A disc that has many folders
The disc tray does not open and
“LOCKED” appears.
Contact your Sony dealer or local
authorized Sony service facility.
The disc tray does not close.
Load the disc correctly.
Always close the disc tray by pressing
OPEN/CLOSE. Do not forcibly
push the disc tray to close it as this may
cause a malfunction.

authorized Sony service facility.
The system does not eject the disc.
You cannot remove the disc during
CD-USB Synchro Recording, or REC
1 Recording. Press
to cancel the
recording, then press
OPEN/CLOSE
to eject the disc.
