Connecting a generator (optional)
CAUTION
Risk of damaging equipment by
connecting three-phase generator
The sonnenBatterie storage system
is compatible with any generator
that produces 120v Line to Neutral
and 240v Line to Line at 60Hz.
Any generator that cannot provide
this will not be received by the
sonnenBatterie as valid AC power
and therefore will not aid in battery
charging.
The storage system can accept generator AC connections to charge the battery modules in the event of an extended loss of grid power.

Tools needed:

1/8-inch tip screwdriver
The connections are on the main connection
rail, directly above the internal power meter. To
connect a generator:

Connect the generator’s L1, L2, and N AC
connections to the appropriately labeled
terminals in the storage system.
Connecting an Ethernet cable
▶
Connect a shielded ethernet cable to the
ethernet socket.

In units with an internal ATS, the Ethernet
socket is located behind the AC breaker.
