7.2 Setting half throttle (model 106B)
Grip the multi-function handle, activate the
throttle lever (1), locate the sliding switch (2)
in the start position and release the throttle
lever. This is the half throttle or start position.

7.3 Starter shutter adjustment
2.The starter shutter (1) is to be adjusted as
follows closed if the motor is cold,
open when the motor is warm.
When first starting or if the fuel tank has been
run empty and has been refilled, press the
primer (2) several times (at least 5x) until the
fuel is visible in the plastic bulb.

7.4 Starting
1. Lay the motor scythe evenly and without
obstructions on the ground.
Take up a safe position, securely hold the machine
and ensure that the cutter does not touch any
objects or the ground. During starting, never stand
or kneel on the shaft tube, otherwise the shaft or
the tube might be damaged.

Slowly pull the starter handle until you first feel resistance.
Then pull the starter handle quickly and forcefully in a
straight line from the rope guide. Do not jam the cord on
the cord guide, or pull the starter cord to the end-stop,
otherwise it might break. Slowly return the starter handle.
7.5 If the motor does not start
1. If, in spite of several attempts, the motor
fails to start, check whether all settings de-
scribed above are correct. Try starting again. If
the engine still fails to start, the combustion
chamber will be saturated.
2.In this case we recommend:
Placing the stop switch on pos. “0 / stop”,
Remove the sparkplug cover,
Pull out the underlying sparkplug connector,
unscrew the sparkplug and dry it well,
Give full throttle and pull the starter
grip several times to ventilate the com
bustion chamber
replace the sparkplug, replace
sparkplug connector and sparkplug cover.
Place the stop switch on pos. “1 /
start”, starter shutter on pos. .
Repeat start process.
If the motor is cold:
With the starter shutter in position start
until the motor is audible and briefly starts
(ignites). Then immediately place the starter
shutter in position . Continue starting until
the motor turns over.
If the motor is warm:
With the starter shutter in position start
until the motor turns over.
