Rounding Off
This section collects together various loose ends, and in no
particular order attempts to knit them together. Firstly, there’s the
update history and modification status for the HOTLINE®
.
Updates
New Case
Since 2001, the HOTLINE® has been cased in the “1.5” style uni-
tary construction combination enclosure and recirculating solution
reservoir. Earlier models had a separate recirculating solution reser-
voir bonded onto the rear. The 1.5 style casing covers and gaskets
are not interchangeable with the original case.
There is no reason to automatically retire an old style case at
routine service, unless it has been damaged, or it is desired to per-
form cosmetic upgrading.
Modifications
Two-Second Delay
Current production units, for some time now, have had a two-
second delay circuit in the Over Temperature Alarm circuit. This has
almost no effect on alarms triggered by a change in temperature,
since temperature changes tend to be relatively slow events. How-
ever, if the alarm is being triggered by operation of the “Test” but-
ton, the original instantaneous action could be too sensitive for
comfort.
This conversion can be applied retrospectively to older HL-90
units.
