For each terminal device a respective billable license is necessary for the whole duration of usage.
For this SKS provides the app „Door call 2“ (for iOS and Android), which allows a mobile communication with your door
station via the data channel of your mobile network (Voice over IP). We explicitly point out that using this functionality
might be limited or prohibited by the respective mobile network operator. There is no guarantee for the software to func-
tion on any possible mobile terminal devices and operating systems.
The iOS-App “Door call 2“ was tweaked for terminal devices from iOS version 11.0 onwards (iPhone, iPad, iPad
Pro), the Android app was developed for devices from software version Android 6.0 („Marshmallow“).
The actu-
al compatibility as well as functionality and scope of performance can vary from device to device, thus SKS offers the
option to try out the app in the demo mode to be able to assess the compatibility before purchasing.
The SKS app “Door call 2“ provides an optimal addition to your intercom system for a comfortable and mobile com-
munication, but is not a replacement of an indoor station, as various impacts such as the quality of the mobile network
(both mobile radio and WLAN) or the or the battery level of your mobile devise play a significant role for the functionality.
Hence the quality of a connection concerning image and speech can vary considerably due to the factors of one locality
to another and the functionality thus cannot be generally guaranteed.
Attention
Wireless connections to mobile terminal devices can be interrupted even if the network is
stable. SKS thus generally recommends to use mobile devices AND an SKS indoor station
in parallel.
The SKS IP-Gateway II embeds your intercom system into complex network infastructures. A reliable and safe function-
ality can only be provided if the respective knowledge in the field of network technology is available during planning and
installation.
This manual describes the way to integrate the IP-Gateway II into a network and to connect it with a mobile device. This
document does not describe technical details concerning the SKS BUS system or network technology in general, but the
process of initial setup. As an example the initial setup is done in a detached house.
