• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabili-
ties, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Do not allow children to play with fixed
controls.
• These operators are designed to power rolling or sectional shutters. The rated torque and operating time selected have
to be compatible with the characteristics of the driven part. Any other use must be approved by our Technical Department
beforehand.
• Check that the temperature range marked on the drive is suitable for the location.
• Simu operators must be used with accessories indicated in the Simu’s catalogue (brackets, adaptors …).
• Use of cap and cable’s protector are obligatory when the motor is used outside. The cable used for wiring must be appro-
priate for the installation.
• Installations that use brakeless motors shall have special systems to ensure that if the motorisation is disengaged:
- The platen shall not cover more than 50 mm if the passage opening is less than 500 mm or 100 mm if the opening is
greater than 500 mm.
or:
- The installation shall have a primary edge with possible deformation that is greater than the stopping distance, which does
not generate a static force of more than 150N.
• The use of a box is indispensable if the drive is intended to be installed at a height of at least 2,5 m above floor level or
other access level.
• The drive cannot be used with a driven part incorporating a wicket door (unless the drive cannot be operated with the
wicket door open).
• Ensure that entrapment between the driven part and the surrounding fixed parts due to the opening movement of the
driven part is avoided.

When used outdoors, protect the H 05VV-F cable inside a UV-resistant duct (IEX 21/2437/DC)
• The closure shall operate so that injury is prevented during the unrolling.
• It’s important for safety to follow and keep these instructions.
• An incorrect installation could lead serious ingury.
• It is mandatory to respect the relevant national standards or C.E.I. 364 standard for electrical installation.
• Before installing the motor, remove any unnecessary cords and disable any equipment not needed for powered operation.
• Check that the driven part is in good working condition, properly balanced, opens and closes correctly.
• If the installation is controlled by a biased-off switch, this switch is to be fixed within sight of the appliance but away from
moving parts.
• If not key switch operated, the switch is to be installed at a minimum height of 1.5 m and not accessible to the public.
• Ground wiring is mandatory and must be completed first.
• The power supply circuit must be equipped with an omnipolar cutting device with an openning gap of 3 mm minimum.
• If the power supply cable is damaged, the motor must be returned to an After Sales Office entitled by Simu in order to avoid
any danger.
• For handling operations on the product, use an adapted mean.
• After installation, ensure that the mechanism is properly adjusted and that the protection system and the manual release
function correctly.

Important safety instructions for the installation / Warning
• It is important for the safety of the people to follow all the instructions and to preserve them.
• Do not allow children to play with the control devices.
• Watch the moving shutter and keep people away until the shutter is completely closed.
• Frequently examine the installation for imbalance and signs of wear or damage to cables and springs. Do not use the
closure if repair or adjustment is necessary.
• The activation of the manual release may cause uncontrolled movement of the driven part due to mechanical failure or an
out-of-balance of the system.
Maintenance:
• For any intervention on the closure or on the motor, please refer to the instructions of the product directions use.
• If the installation is automatically controlled, disconnect the supply when cleaning or maintenance is being carried out.
• Any service on the operator must be performed by a professional installer approved by Simu.
