Earth Connection

•  This Inverter has an Earth (grounding) Lug (5) on the rear panel. This

must be connected to an earthing point, which will vary depending on the

intended use of the inverter (see below)

Vehicles

 - connect the earth to the chassis of the vehicle

Boats

 - connect to the boat's earthing system

Fixed location

 - connect to a ground rod (a metal rod driven into the

earth) or other proper service entrance ground

•  Use a 40/50/55 (3.3mm) or larger copper wire (preferably with green/

yellow insulation) to connect the Earth (grounding) Lug (5) to the earthing

point

 WARNING!

Do not operate this inverter without connecting it to earth.

Electrical shock hazard may result.

Operating Instructions

Connecting a load

•  Do not connect loads greater than the rated maximum continuous power

output of the inverter (see specifications)

•  The maximum capacity of 2000W is the capacity of the unit as a whole.

This may be drawn from a single socket or from a combination of both

the sockets, but the total capacity of 2000W must not be exceeded

•  Before connecting any appliance to the inverter, switch Power Switch (4)

to the ON position. After a few moments the green Power Indicator Light

(1) will illuminate. The inverter is now ready for use

WARNING:

Sensitive items, such as laptops, should be used in conjunction

with an anti-surge device

Note

•  Some rechargeable devices do not operate well with a modified sine

wave inverter. They only operate from a standard household outlet which

provides a pure sine wave

•  Some appliances (televisions, stereos, motors, neon lights etc) may

require a much higher starting power than their rated power. If the

appliance will not start, the maximum output of the inverter has been

exceeded. Reduce the total load on the inverter

•  If the appliance to be connected does not have its wattage (W) indicated

on it, the wattage can be calculated by multiplying the amperage (A)

by 230

•  Electrical appliances can be connected to the 230V Outlet Socket (3)

Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible cause

Suggested remedy

Inverter will not operate

Low battery voltage

Inverter in thermal shutdown

12V lead not properly connected

Internal fuse “blown”

Charge or replace battery

Allow inverter to cool before switching on

Check lead for proper connections

Have inverter serviced at an authorised service centre

Electrical appliance will not

operate

Starting load of appliance is too great

Reduce load

Low voltage alarm on

continuously

Poor electrical connections

Inadequate power supply

Check/clean electrical connections

Check 12V system capacity

Low output voltage

Inverter is overloaded

Input voltage is below 11V

Reduce load

Charge or replace battery

Television/stereo interference

Inverter is located too close to aerial

Aerial cable is not shielded

Move inverter/aerial

Use shielded cable

Low battery protection

•  Do not connect loads greater than the rated maximum continuous power

output of the inverter (see specifications)

•  In order to prevent your vehicle battery completely running out of charge,

this inverter is equipped with a low voltage alarm and automatic low

battery shutdown

•  If the supply voltage drops to 10.5V the low battery alarm will sound and

the Low Battery Indicator Light (2) will illuminate. This indicates that the

battery should be charged. If the supply voltage is allowed to drop to 10V,

the inverter will automatically cut out. To restart the inverter, switch off,

charge the battery, and switch back on

•  A typical 12V battery will have an operating time of at least 1-2 hours.

It is recommended that the battery is topped up by running vehicle’s

engine once each hour

Note:

the inverter may shut down as the engine is started due to the high

electrical load generated by the vehicle starter motor.

Overload protection

•  This inverter is equipped with an in-built high temperature cut out. If

an overload causes the internal parts of the inverter to overheat it will

automatically shut down

•  To restart: switch off, reduce the load and allow the inverter to cool. Then

switch back on

Maintenance

Cleaning

•  Disconnect the inverter from the power supply before cleaning
•  Keep your inverter clean and free from dust or particles. Do not allow

ventilation holes to become blocked. Use a soft brush or dry cloth to

clean the inverter. If available blow through the ventilation holes with

clean, dry compressed air

Disposal

•  Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic

equipment (WEEE), with household waste

•  Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct

way to dispose of power tools
