3.1
Construction
The calibrator consists of a robust, black-and-red painted steel housing
and has two car-
rying handles
The left part of the housing holds an electronically controlled metal block
made of a spe-
cial steel alloy. This metal block has a bore, which is accessible from the top, and holds the
test specimen.
The metal block contains the heating elements and the temperature sensor for measuring
the reference temperature. The metal block is thermally insulated.
The right part of the housing holds the complete electronic unit for controlling the reference
temperature.
The controller
, which is equipped with a 7-segment display (2-line, 4-digit) for the refer-
ence and the set temperature, is located on the front panel. The 5-pole socket
is used to
connect to a PC.
The main switch with thermal fuse and power connector
as well as the grilles for cooling
the calibrator are located on the bottom of the housing. The built-in fans control the inlet air
of the housing
and of the metal block
.
