9.3.1
Unit repair and excluded liability
All changes and repairs must be done by qualified personnel, and applicable safety
regulations must be followed. Please note the following:
•
The user is responsible for all changes and repairs made to the device.
•
All new components must be provided by Siemens.
•
Restrict repair to faulty components only.
•
Do not re-use faulty components.
9.3.2
Part replacement
If the antenna, lens, secondary O-ring, and spring washers require replacement due to
damage or failure, they may be replaced without the need for re-calibration if of the same
type and size.
Replacing the antenna
Changing to a different antenna type may be performed by a Siemens authorized repair
center or personnel.
If the electronics or enclosure require replacement due to damage or failure, please ensure
the correct antenna version is used, otherwise a re-calibration will need to be performed by
Siemens authorized personnel.
Replacing the lens
1.
Remove existing lens by turning it counter-clockwise until it separates from the unit.
2.
Replace the O-ring between the lens and process connection with a new one.
3.
Carefully thread the replacement lens, and turn it clockwise until resistance is encountered.
Do not over-tighten the lens, as this will permanently damage it.

Note
After installation of the new lens onto the flanged encapsulated antenna version and before
mounting on the vessel/tank, some lenses may not appear to lie flush on the device, but this
is normal and will not impact performance.
