Commissioning begins with the connecting and the downloading of the hardware. You then
perform the connection and function test. Finally, the system is optimized.
Values have to be simulated for some tasks. Information that supports you in these tasks can
be found below.

Compile and download
6.1.1
Introduction
In a PCS 7 system you compile and download the entire program of the process control system
with the engineering station.
Compiling
You access the central function for compiling and downloading in SIMATIC Manager via the
PLC > Compile and Download Objects... menu command.
Compiling and downloading the AS
The following options are available for compiling and downloading programs:
● You can run the functions for a single SIMATIC station.
● You can compile and download multiple SIMATIC stations using a single function.
● You download the device parameters independently of the AS.

Compiling and downloading the OS
The following options are available for compiling and downloading the operator station(s):
● You can individually compile and individually download an operator station.
● You can simultaneously compile multiple operator stations and download them individually.
● You can simultaneously compile and download multiple operator stations.
