Overview
You configure the FOUNDATION Fieldbus and create the FF devices in HW Config.
You configure a bus link suitable for the connection of an FF segment on the PROFIBUS DP . 

A "Foundation Fieldbus: FF subsystem" object with standard bus parameters is created 

automatically with the bus link.
You assign the parameters of the FF devices with SIMATIC PDM.

Basic procedure

If you want to connect an FF device to an automation system in a PCS 7 project, the following 

steps are required:
1. Integrating device descriptions (Page 26) 
2. Create a bus link with FOUNDATION Fieldbus (FF subsystem) on the DP master system 

(Page 27)

3. Insert FF device (Page 29)

– Insert an FF device and assign the address on the FF segment
– Assign addresses in the I/O range and symbolic names for signals 
– Specify the device name and object properties

4. How to configure FF-internal interconnections (Control in the field) (Page 35)
5. Configure the bus parameters (Page 47)
6. Generate a schedule and load it into the FF segment (Page 60)
