Connecting the Fan
The fans have the following purpose:
●
To dissipate heat generated by the higher power loss compared to "MP 377".
●
To ensure proper cooling in case of inclined installation.
The fans are designed for continuous operation. If the fans are not connected to the same
power supply as the HMI device, you will have to turn them on separately.
Maintain the connection sequence for the HMI device. For a description of the connection
sequence, refer to chapter "Overview (Page 31)".
Please note the "Maintenance and Care (Page 51)" chapter.
4.2.3
Connecting the power supply
Configuration graphic
The following figure shows the connection between the power supply and HMI device.
Reverse polarity protection
The HMI device is equipped with a reverse polarity protection circuit. This protection does
not apply to the connection of the fans.
Connecting the power supply
CAUTION
Safe electrical isolation required
Use only 24 VDC power supply units with safe electrical isolation in accordance with IEC
60364-4-41 or HD 384.04.41 (VDE 0100, Part 410), for example, in accordance with the
PELV standard.
The supply voltage must be within the specified voltage range. Otherwise, malfunction at
the HMI device cannot be ruled out.
