Multiple Spanning Tree Configuration
Multiple Spanning Tree
The Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) is a further development of the Rapid
Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP).
With MSTP, in contrast to RSTP, there is not only one Rapid Spanning Tree established.
With MSTP, several independent Rapid Spanning Tree instances are created for various
VLANs. This allows the traffic from different logical networks to be routed via different paths.
